Aspiring physician with a strong passion for patient-centered care, inspired by clinical internships, shadowing doctors, and volunteering in hospitals and clinics. Gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of medicine through research projects on chronic kidney disease and pediatric leukemia. Founded the Jivana Health Foundation to help improve access to healthcare and spread awareness about women’s heart disease. I’m excited to keep learning, become a stronger leader, and pursue my goal of becoming a doctor so I can help others through care and community health.

Shadowed Dr. Usha Gopalakrishna Nayak, MD (Pulmonology/Sleep Medicine). Gained insights into diagnosing and treating conditions like COPD, obstructive sleep apnea, and lung infections. Observed advanced procedures, including thoracentesis and bronchoscopy, alongside patient care in such situations. Developed a deeper understanding of pulmonary function test interpretation, the necessity for procedural accuracy in high-risk pulmonary cases, and the critical role of compassionate, patient-centered care in managing chronic respiratory conditions

Shadowed Dr. Archana P Parthasarathi, MD (Internal Medicine), gained insights into diagnosing and treating conditions like COPD and lung infections. Observed advanced procedures, including thoracentesis and bronchoscopy, and witnessed Code Blue emergencies, including CPR and ACLS. Learned the importance of bedside manner, compassionate communication, and decision-making in patient care, and the teamwork between medical staff in a fast-paced medical emergency condition at the Hospital.

Dr. Sebastutaraj Clinic, Coonoor, India 16-May-23 To 12-July-23

Gained exposure to diverse medical cases and resource-efficient healthcare practices in India, emphasizing holistic care and the integration of traditional and modern medicine. Shadowed Dr. Sebastutaraj, learning patient diagnosis, treatment planning, and communication in a multicultural setting, while understanding the role of family in decision-making and enhancing my adaptability to varied healthcare needs.

Medical Scribe, Medcity Urgent, and Primary Care, GA 1-Jul-25 to 18-July-25 

In this role, I provided direct support to primary care physicians by managing patient documentation and ensuring all patient encounters were accurately recorded in real-time. I documented clinical notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescribed medications, ensuring complete adherence to HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality and patient privacy. I gained exposure to a wide range of medical conditions and emergency procedures, which strengthened my medical terminology knowledge and understanding of clinical workflows.

Clinical Intern, Quick MD Emergency Care, Frisco, TX   15-Nov-24 To 25- Jan-25

Gained hands-on experience and shadowed Dr. Subba Daggubati, MD, observing patient care and medical procedures such as measuring vital signs, assisting with clinical assessments, and collecting patient histories. Utilized eClinicalWorks (eCW) for managing EMRs and maintaining documentation. Shadowed procedures like wound care, suturing, and splinting.

Medical Intern, Medcity Urgent And Primary Care, GA  20-Dec-24 To 3-Jan-25 

During this period, I have developed skills in medical scribing by assisting primary care physicians in both urgent care and primary care settings. Learned patient documentation and helped ensure HIPAA compliance. Observed emergency diagnostic procedures and treatment plans, which deepened my understanding of clinical operations, medical terminology, and the critical role of accurate medical records in patient care. Got hands-on experience with electronic health record software EPIC.

Clinical Intern, Quick MD Primary Care, Frisco, TX        17-Aug-24 To 16-Nov-24

Assisted pediatrician (Dr. Tracey Vuong) and nurses in providing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a clinical setting. Engaged with young patients and their families to provide comfort and support during visits. Developed the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and healthcare professionals. I learned the importance of empathy, patience, and clear communication in providing quality care. This internship further solidified my passion for pursuing a career in medicine.

Foundations Of Computational Biology: Engaged in advanced biological research exploring genetic sequences, molecular biology, and evolutionary patterns through a computational lens. Led 450+ member HOSA chapter, increasing membership by 50% and mentoring officers; positioned chapter for Texas Outstanding Chapter Award. Directed key initiatives including a 160+ unit blood drive, 179 hygiene kits, and the PFF Walkathon. Founded “CoachesCorner” to prep 70+ members, resulting in 30% score gains, 3× more top-3 finishes, and 2× state qualifiers. Organized “Meet the Future” with 60+ healthcare mentors.

I founded my school’s first STEM research club to connect classroom learning with real-world research. In 6 months, we grew to 40+ members, hosted 5 workshops, published 4 student-led papers, and secured 8 professional mentors. The club now serves as a broader platform for student-mentor collaboration and publication at scale. As Founder and President, I directly mentor 2 underclassmen and have guided 2 students in publishing their work in reputable student journals, ensuring the club’s long-term impact.

Founded and led a nonprofit focused on improving healthcare access and educating communities about Coronary Artery Disease. Onboarded and trained 396 new Red Cross volunteers for healthcare-focused roles; increased volunteer engagement by 40% year-over-year. Inspired students from 30+ schools to establish Red Cross Club chapters on their campuses, expanding youth-led engagement in healthcare and community service.

Child Neurodiversity Volunteer:

Worked one-on-one with children with ADHD, autism, developmental delays, and hearing impairments, building trust through play, conversation, and consistent care. I had the privilege of working one-on-one with a child with autism who slowly began to open up, stepping out of his comfort zone and engaging in new activities with joy and trust. Through gentle encouragement, patience, and play, we built a meaningful connection. Hearing from his parents that they noticed real improvements and that he specifically asked to work with me again was incredibly heartwarming. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
